We integrate content automatically and free from the largest databases in the world, as well as smaller local sources. The reason we’re able to integrate such a large amount of content is due to the extensive trend in open API’s, meaning that we now have access to large amounts of content that until recently was not available. We’re able to catch all the largest events, but also smaller events that often fall under peoples radar. We’re a platform for these types of events to profile themselves, and distribute themselves towards a larger crowd without having to pay for it. On each can, glass, or plastic bottle you purchase in Denmark you pay a small premium as a deposit that you get back when returning the empty bottles and cans to the supermarket. Consequently, the cities are clean and society more sustainable. This simple idea of rewarding sustainability led to the foundation of EcoTree. Approximately 600,000 newly planted trees later, the idea that was born in Scandinavia returns to its place of origin, as EcoTree has opened its new international office in Copenhagen in September 2019. This combined with a new “Series A” financing round of 3€ million marks the beginning of EcoTree’s international expansion.
