Pixop is a cloud-based AI- and ML-powered video enhancer that is designed to help production companies, TV stations, rightsholders and independent creators monetize their digital archives by enhancing and upscaling footage to fit today's screens. Current methods of video enhancement and upscaling used in film and TV preservation are manual, making them prohibitively expensive and time-consuming. Pixop automates the entire process using proprietary algorithms to improve the perceptual quality of footage while eliminating both complexity and cost. It includes a host of powerful features, including video asset management, storage, video quality analysis, transcoding, a range of share options, and a quality guarantee. Pixop is built on AWS infrastructure and can easily be scaled to accommodate variable workloads and requirements. As things stand, much of the audiovisual artifacts of the 20th and 21st centuries — including reels of beloved film and television — are in danger of being lost due to source degradation and obsolete technology. And now they are expanding to the international market. The team has developed a photo book app called SubBook, which allows users to collect pictures from both Facebook, Instagram, Dropbox, and the iPhone camera roll to make simple photo books as easy as possible. They have made it with a particular focus on a user-friendly experience, so that people can both create and order their photo books while grocery shopping or in the bus on the way home from work. Because the team would like to spread the joy of perpetuated memories and the possibility to make simple, personalized, and cheap photo books to even more people, they now have entered the international market. In doing so they have also launched their website and app in English versions, while their photo books are delivered to all of Europe. With a sustainable aim. As the team wishes to give something back to the resources they use in their production, SubBook has joined in with the organization One Tree Planted. This collaboration means that a tree is planted every time a customer orders three books using the SubBook app. The team care a great deal about the traces they leave on our Earth and because of this, they only use paper qualities complying with international environmental requirements. This also means that their customers can order books with a clean and green conscience. For now, the SubBook app only works with iPhones, but as a part of their international launch the team is working tirelessly on developing an app for Android users, so that many more can join in on getting pictures out of the phones and into the photo books.
