Oxygeni.us is a small team from Denmark who is passionate about creating a solution that provides the new generation a healthier life. In our daily lives, we saw a tendency that people were increasingly concerned about the consequences of air pollution but no adequate products existed for children.  We are currently developing solutions that will solve one of the biggest threats to children’s health: Air pollution. Oxygeni.us is a passionate team from Denmark. We are looking to develop better ways to protect children from environmental hazards. In our daily lives, we spotted an increased concern about the consequences of air pollution and came to the realization that especially for small children no adequate personal protection was available. So, we began researching the issues and quickly discovered the potential to help a neglected population group.  We made a survey in Copenhagen regarding children's exposure to air pollution. It showed that 92% of parents are worried about the consequences of air pollution on the health of their child and Copenhagen is very far from being one of the most polluted cities on the world map.  Premature death is not the only risk. Exposure to air pollution at a young age can lead to a significantly increased risk of a lifetime of respiratory illness, asthma, and allergies.  Waiting for air pollution levels to decrease is not an option. We're solving a very big problem in the world's cities: That we don't know enough about what architecture, urban spaces and services that city-dwellers like and want. With a smartphone app coupled with a data intelligence platform, we retrieve raw data from people on the street and, through intelligent handling of big data, offer a whole new level of insight into what makes a good urban world. These insights will not only help us create better cities to live in — they are also highly monetisable.  --- We are currently three people: Two Danes and one external developer building our backend MVP. Our Danish co-founder, Anders Ojgaard, has 18 years experience with both start-ups and consulting for some of Denmark's biggest companies and is a well-known figure on the urban design scene in Denmark. He is not a developer but has years of experience working with tech-builds, including designing applications — and also has years of experience working with urban architecture and communications. He recently left a position as the head of an internet project that had one of Denmark's largest corporations as its investor. Our backend developer has 10+ years of experience and works with a big stack. Significant experience with system architecture, PHP, JavaScript, server setups etc. Now building experience with Python and Swift. We have a product concept, a design and a prototype. We are currently building a MVP, expected to be ready mid-2020. We are too early-stage for funding. We have, however, had an unusual degree of interest — including from both European VCs and one in the US. The aim now is to launch the MVP in a controlled environment (single city) as quickly as possible, presumably Copenhagen. Once we have built up an initial user-base, we will go back to the investors that have asked to be contacted at this stage. We are currently also laying the ground for collaborations with the biggest cities in Denmark, and have had one top-level meeting about a future partnership. We are currently interested in talking to 1-2 potential co-founders that want to come in at this early stage. At least one of these should be an experienced developer. The other could be a person with other, relevant experience from start-ups or working with urban architecture and environments.  Our website is currently password protected.
