Student assistant for impact-driven scale up in Copenhagen

Matter’s mission is to make capital work for people and the planet. We are a financial technology company based in the heart of Copenhagen and an international team comprised of talented people from England, Scotland, Russia, France, South Africa, Brazil and Denmark. We develop B2B software to analyse and report on the sustainability of investments, and serve institutional investors in and outside of Europe with the ambition to positively affect one of the most central industries in our economic system.

The role
The position is for a student assistant to support our sustainability analysis team. You will be involved throughout the process, from researching sustainability topics, gathering information and data, undertaking analyses and presenting results. Given the nature of Matter as a business, you will also need to be flexible and contend with ad hoc tasks which will arise sporadically. Tasks can include anything from in-depth research on certain companies or issue areas, to analyses of large datasets. The more you grow, the more responsibility you will get.
Your profile
We are looking for someone with a background in economics, political science, business, environmental studies or other relevant backgrounds. The ideal candidate will demonstrate most of the following traits, but you do not need to tick all boxes:
· Strong academic profile (min. 2nd year of Bsc.)
· Demonstrated interest in sustainability
· General knowledge of / interest in learning about the role of the finance sector in driving sustainability
· Highly organized with attention to detail
· Ability to work under pressure to strict deadlines with competing priorities
· Quick learner and ability to process and understand information quickly
· Strong writing and communication skills
· Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
· Team player willing to collaborate to solve problems
· Curious - ability to self-motivate and know when to ask questions
· Experience working on corporate sustainability or sustainable finance projects a plus
