Swappie is the fastest growing B2C-startup in Helsinki, building an end-to-end marketplace for buying and selling refurbished smartphones. We are now looking for a highly motivated and experienced Head Accountant ready to take the next step in their career by joining our Finance team. This is an exciting time to join us, as we are building up our Accounting function and rolling-out an ERP as a financial system. 

As a Head Accountant at Swappie, you would be a key player in our team responsible for our daily accounting related tasks and taxes. You will play a significant role in the month-end closing process ensuring that the financial information provided to the stakeholders is accurate and timely. It's a versatile role where you get to make an impact and challenge yourself. The content of the tasks and responsibilities can also be evolved based on the experience and interests of the chosen candidate. 

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

• Daily bookkeeping and reconciliations

• Be in charge of account payables and account receivables related tasks

• Prepare VAT and other tax reporting

• Participate in monthly closings and preparation of annual financial statements

• Take a significant role in our ERP implementation project as Accounting Subject Matter Expert

• Other accounting related tasks

• Identify key areas for improvement for your role

WE WOULD LIKE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE

• Solid experience (minimum 3-5 years) as an accountant, a financial controller or in a similar external accounting position

• Strong accounting know-how understanding FAS (IFRS and group accounting knowledge is considered as plus)

• Technical understanding of Finnish tax legislation

• Experience on using an ERP solution as your accounting solution (Netsuite experience is considered as plus)

• Fluent language skills in spoken and written Finnish, and good skills in English

• You will enjoy working in this role if you're an accurate and proactive financial expert with a can-do attitude and eye for detail. It’s considered as an advantage if you have experience from fast-paced and international business environments or working with growth companies.
