Do you want to build the next "Strava for developers" and help developers worldwide build competence, evolve, and improve their programming skills? Do you want to work in a startup where your opinion matters?
About GrepS:
GrepS has developed a realistic analysis of software engineering skills, to give every developer who loves to write great code a seat at the table. With the help of our platform developers can solve real-life programming challenges in an authentic development environment and get objective science-based feedback on strengths and weaknesses. The analysis results are benchmarked towards developers internationally. Our solution is powered by years of research on professional developers.
We are now in the process of developing a new user interface of our solution. It can be compared to some kind of "Strava for developers", where developers can measure software engineering skills to see where I stand and get feedback on areas that should be improved.
Are you our new team member?
We are currently looking for an experienced front-end developer with a strong UI/UX focus to help us build an engaging developer experience. You have a keen eye for interface design and a passion for creating an amazing user experience. You will be in charge of building the front-end of our platform.
You will work with the CTO and the development team of the company. From time to time you´ll also need to spend time interacting with users (=other developers) and customers (=CTOs, VP Engineers) to understand their needs.
Skill-wise, we are looking for someone who:
Has experience with writing high quality, semantic, modular, and maintainable code
Has experience in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Has experience with GraphQL or are willing to learn it
Our current web front-ends are based on Nuxt.js, Vue, and Grails. A fun part of your job will be to choose the best suiting technologies going forward.
Life at GrepS:
We're a startup and with that comes all the good and bad of joining a young company. Some days feel like you're on a hopeless mission, other days you are unbeatable and on the top of the world. We think you'll like to work with us if:
you love to build new stuff
you thrive in an environment where your opinion matters, where you have to drive things forward and you have a lot of responsibility
you like to learn new things
you can both contribute to the team, but also manage to work independently
you see the importance of work-life balance
you think it's rewarding to work for something that matters
English is our work language, and we currently have employees from Norway, Syria, Kazakstan, and Scotland. You will need solid communication skills, the ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical people, as well as the capacity to work steadfastly in your own direction.
We are looking for someone who currently lives in Norway or would like to live here. (sorry, we don't have relocation packages) It's not that it's important for us to hire people who live in Norway, but this particular position is partially funded by public grants, and then it matters where you live :-) Right now most of the team works remotely, but we do have an office at StartupLab in Oslo where we catch up on projects from time to time.
The salary is negotiable and dependent on experience. We need someone who can start as soon as possible and ideally work full-time. Both freelancers and those looking for a permanent position are welcome to apply.
