Passionate Academics are the Future Therefore, we have built a platform that connects students with companies - and the first thing we are going to fix is the thesis collaboration issue.


Current status

Excelerate is in the very early days of the startup journey. Due to COVID-19 we have been delayed slightly from an anticipated April launch to the new August launch of the complete beta version. We have just launched the marketing site (a couple of landing pages) which we are very excited about - and this is where you come in (more on that in a second).

The August launch will be the big one as students who are finishing their degree in summer 2021 will be looking to match with companies from August - December in 2020. To prepare for this launch, we have engaged with an external partner who is helping with the marketing strategy, we are in the middle of creating that plan and we have already seen that we are more ambitious than what the current team has time for, - therefore we need a marketing / social media person who can execute the strategy alongside the external partner.

 

The Excelerate team

We are 3 co-founders.

Co-founder 1 (CEO - product owner / team builder / visionary)

  • Responsible for the product (Currently that is design, spec, manage and manage developers)

  • Build the team (scout and hire)

  • Financial (budget / and business financials)

  • Strategy

Co-founder 2 (CTO)

  • Responsible for the development

  • Build the development team

Co-founder 3 (Head of Sales)

  • Responsible for the development

  • Build the development team


To take the startup further at a faster pace, we need help with marketing and social media. Our next (first) hire would, therefore, be you. You get the chance to join a startup from the very early days and that also implies that you will get a lot of responsibility. This is an intern position BUT if / when we get funding, then this position could easily turn into a fulltime / paid position.


We are looking for..

A Marketing / Social Media intern

  • Create awesome content (writing - be creative!)

  • Responsible for executing the marketing and social media plan

  • Contribute to the marketing and social media plan with ideas

  • Evaluate and update material frequently

  • Help sales with research

Core skills needed

  • Very high level of English (platform communication is in English)

  • Understanding of Marketing and Social media (either from school or from a previous job)

  • Growth mindset (always be learning)

A bonus if you already got experience with FB marketing tool, Google and email marketing.


To start in August

We are looking for someone who is hungry/eager to join Excelerate, who thinks the mission sounds amazing. You are excited to join a startup with all the freedom and responsibilities and hard work that comes along with it.

English language is a requirement but we couldn't care less about nationality/gender/age. It's all about personality and the fit between us.
