At Famly, we’re looking for a Content and Copywriter to help us tell stories about child care, and the way children grow up.
Famly is on a mission to completely transform the childcare industry. Yeah - we know! It's certainly not fintech, although we do have plenty of financial features in our software. We might not be the latest social media influencer platform, AI company, or make ride-sharing skateboards.
But we do work in an industry where our work has a very real chance to ease stress, and save time for those who nurture and educate children. By doing so, it's a chance to have a positive effect on the lives of children themselves.
We’ve been shaking up the childcare software industry for 7 years. Now, hundreds of thousands of parents and staff use Famly every day in the UK, US, Germany, Denmark, and Norway.
As our new writer, you’ll be in charge of growing our audience further and producing copy that tells our story with clarity and poise. Through meticulous articles, guides, compelling web and campaign copy, video scripts and emails, you’ll be telling stories that help more people to deliver outstanding early years care.
On our blog, we write research articles and interviews, produce long-form guides, film interviews with industry experts, and host webinars. This year alone our work has been read more than 1.6 million times. On our website and in our campaigns, we tell customer stories and try to give visitors the lowdown on our software in a way that’s simple and compelling.
You’d be here to help improve all of that, but also be given the responsibility to come up with your own ideas to push our brand and content forward too.
Write short, concise, and compelling copy for our website, owning the research, interviewing, writing, editing, and testing of your creative work.
Raise awareness for Famly and help grow our subscriber base by helping to create weekly content that provides actionable, clear, and helpful advice to our audience.
Take part in building and managing the editorial calendar, including staying up to date with what’s happening in our sector and understanding our customer’s challenges in order to make content people really care about.
Copy-edit content produced by other teammates prior to publishing.
Collaborate with teammates on marketing campaigns incl. product marketing campaigns, newsletters, social media campaigns, webinars, PR etc.
You’re a native-level English speaker with a close connection to the UK.
A background in early years education or childcare is a bonus. An interest in children and education is a must.
You are an experienced copywriter, author, journalist or content creator, ready to drive even bigger exposure for Famly in the UK sector.
You’re comfortable writing across different formats from smart, provocative by-lines to in-depth interviews and video scripts; persuasive sales materials to snappy web and social copy.
A great editor with a deep understanding of how to structure an email or landing page to make it flow, and who can cut, restructure, and rewrite copy with different audiences in mind.
You’re experienced in juggling multiple projects at once and able to prioritise, multitask, and manage your time efficiently.
You’re empathetic and passionate about understanding what drives people and making things they really want to read and watch.
We’re a pretty energetic bunch in the marketing and growth team at Famly. But we’re also a team that prides ourselves on getting our heads down and grinding when we need to, known for pushing projects across the company over the line and finding plenty of time for a bit of laughter in between.
Ditte is the captain of our ship, she spends her time keeping all of our projects on track and meticulously removing obstacles and barriers to make sure we can all do what we do best.
Matt and Aaron make up the content team. Aaron is the US version of you, occasionally dipping his toes over the water to the UK too. Having built our content strategy from scratch as our Head of Content since 2017, Matt’s writing this bit in third person which makes him feel weird. Nonetheless, he’ll help guide you on the Famly style and the wonderful world of Early Years.
Martina and Marcus work on campaigns. While Martina works on our analytics and automation, getting insights and running our email campaigns, Marcus runs our adverts and manages projects across the company to ensure everything is running smoothly.
Toni, Zuzanna and Tove form our Production and Design team. Toni is our Scorsese-esque videographer/editor/director extraordinaire, Zuzanna is our hugely talented illustrator and designer, and Tove helps to give our sales team the information they need, while smoothing the corners off for our content team too.
Famly is built on transparency, less talk - more action, and making sure the person sitting next to you is the one shining, rather than yourself. We care about each other and the work we do, and are a close knit-team of around 40 people, from 17 different countries, all sitting in our central Copenhagen office just off Strøget. We eat lunch together every day, and always celebrate with cake. Sometimes with champagne.
Flexible hours.
Free lunch every day you’re in the office + as much coffee (or tea) as you can drink.
Drinks on Friday and quarterly social events.
A position where you can have a lot of ownership of your projects both in terms of responsibility and freedom to try new things. We’ll get you up and running and collaborate along the way, of course.
And most importantly the opportunity to develop your skills and understanding alongside coworkers you can learn from, and who want to learn from you.
We don't just want your resume - don't get us wrong, we want that too. But more importantly we want you to tell us about yourself and why you’re the best person for this position.
We would also really love to see how you think, so please include links to whatever work you’ve produced in the past that you’re most proud of + your favourite piece of writing or content that someone else has made, and why you think it works.
You can combine all of this interesting info about you into one file and attach it when you apply.
We're looking to fill the position as soon as possible, so get your application in today. Looking forward to hearing from you!
