Startup Norway is an independent impact organization started in 2011 by passionate entrepreneurs, wanting to create a stronger and more inclusive startup community. 

We work to support the founders of Norway by developing services for founders, investors and the extended startup support system to increase the know-how in Norway on how to build companies.  We strive to influence, connect and educate the players of the startup scene, with the goal to make the environment for founders as smooth and supportive as it can possibly be.

Startup Norway has three daughter companies:

• Startup Extreme: A yearly startup festival in Norway - Voss gathering the core of the startup ecosystem in an environment combining networking and extreme sports. 

• Angel Challenge: A Startup Investment Program training investors on how to invest in startups. Angel Challenge also invests in startups and has a portfolio of 20+ investments.

• Startup Campus: is an entrepreneurial playground, coworking and event space in the middle of Oslo city center. This is our 2500m^2 home, where we sit together with startups, investors and friends from the greater startup ecosystem.

In 2020 we count 15 full time employees working in the Startup Norway group of companies and projects. The team is international and diverse by nature, with English as the working language.

The Project

We are now looking to build a web platform to enable us to effectively market and sell the services that we provide to the startup community in Norway. It will be an e-commerce platform for startup and investor services, as well as a content hub for all of the marketing content that we produce. The platform will take inspiration from e-commerce as well as news platforms. We are looking to create a unique and compelling UX and visual experience that strongly portrays the brand profile of Startup Norway.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced UX Designer to take on the task of working with a Product Manager to create the UX design and mockups for the new, responsive platform. If the designer has experience with e-commerce or content/news platforms that is an added bonus, but it is essential to have experience designing the UX and visual experience of responsive web platforms and a portfolio to share with us that shows this.

It is essential that the designer has fluent English and can work with the Startup Norway team on UX design workshops via video call when needed. The team are used to working with Figma, but are open to working with the tools that the designer is comfortable with, as long as it is possible to easily share and collaborate on mockup designs via their design tool of choice. 

We want someone who can ideally start straight away and commit at least 20 - 30 hours per week to the project. The project has the potential to turn into a long term, ongoing relationship, as we discover more requirements to further build the platform going forward.
