Kaffe Bueno is an ingredients company using green chemistry and biotechnology to upcycle coffee's by-product into ingredients for cosmetics, nutraceuticals and functional foods. We are currently on our way to building Europe 1st coffee biorefinery, and we are looking for an experienced biochemical / process engineer to join us in this journey. Ideally He/Her should have experience in green chemistry and biotechnological process scale up and downstreaming/purification methods from lab to industrial scale ideally within the cosmetics, nutraceuticals or food industries.

Additional knowledge or experience working with Lipids extraction and refining is a plus. We are a small but growing company, so work environment will be challenging but engaging, everyday brings it own challenges, while we try push the limits in what is possible with coffee's biomass. Your own initiative is highly encouraged.

Knowledge, Skills and/or Experience Required. At least 4 years of experience within food, nutraceuticals or cosmetics industries with one or several of these skills:

- White Biotechnology, Biorefineries, Scaling-up Bioprocesses

- Pre-treatments

- Development of continuous mode processes for the production of bio-based products

- Operation of a pilot plant facility for the optimization of biotechnological and green chemistry processes

-Extraction and purification of medicinal botanical extracts

- Teamwork and project management skills

-Solvent Extractions, Hydrolyses, Fermentations (batch / fed-batch), physical separations, membranes, CrossFlow filtrations, resins, chromatography, concentration, atomization, crystallization, drying, lyophilization ...

-Expertise in downstream and upstream unit operations, covering process development, technology transfer, troubleshooting, process analysis, optimization, cost reduction and upscaling

-Analytical development:

Chromatography (HPLC, HPTLC, GPC, TLC). Microbiology. Physical and chemical food analyzes. Development of analytical methods. Structural determination (RMN)
