The job
Blusense Diagnostics is seeking an outstanding product design focused engineer with strong plastics knowledge to join our Cartridge Development team.
You will be designing and testing solutions for cutting edge-microfluidic consumables, sourcing prototypes making use of internal capabilities and outsourcing where appropriate. Delivering 3d models, drawings, technical documentation, and performing functional testing.
Your responsibilities
· 3D Design, prototyping, and test consumable product concepts for new medical devices
· Producing prototypes on in-house equipment including CNC milling in soft metals for hot-embossing tooling, direct milling or laser cutting in plastics and 3D printing.
· Sourcing prototype from outsourced services where appropriate, 3d-printing, injection moulding, and die-cutting.
· Experimental design followed by execution of test plan, including testing of biological samples in medical devices.
· At times, leading development efforts on specific programs while, at other times, being a key team member on other programs
· Design for Manufacture review and reporting.
· Experiment design and reporting to test and verify designs
· Design documentation in compliance with ISO13845
Your qualifications
· 3+ years of experience working on the design of plastic consumables or related products
· Bachelor (min.) /Masters in product design/mechanical/or industrial design engineering.
· Strong CAD experience with SolidWorks or similar.
· Demonstrable portfolio design skills are a must
· Proficiency in CNC machining and/or laser cutting other similar prototype fabrication processes
· Support design transfers to manufacturing
· Product development experience for medical devices especially microfluidic cartridges an advantage
· Experience in ISO13485 regulated manufacturing an advantage

· Fluency in English, both verbally and strong technical reporting
