Intern Katapult Ocean

Salary Unpaid

Hello WORLD! Do you want to help save the oceans and find new business opportunities with positive impact? Do you want to contribute to make a positive global impact? Are you passionate about learning more about early stage startups and the startup ecosystem? If you are nodding your head and swearing “Yes!” to all these questions the we might have a great opportunity for you.

About:

In Katapult Ocean we invest in and help grow startups with a positive impact on our oceans.

We do this through the Katapult Ocean accelerator program and by generating positive awareness around the great business opportunities in sustainable ocean tech.

We have made 11 investments in exciting ocean tech companies from all over the world (7 countries, 4 continents). We have brought them through a 3-month long accelerator program in Oslo, Norway. We have built a platform to push the green shift in the ocean industries, and work with corporates and investors to encourage more investment, piloting and engagement with ocean startups. We have a global network of more than 100 mentors supporting the startups in the accelerator.

Since Katapult Ocean was founded in April 2018, we have become a leading force in ocean technology impact investments. We recently joined the accelerator network of the UN Global Compact Action Platform for Sustainable Ocean Business, and we have been invited to sit on the Norwegian Prime Ministers advisory network for the High-Level Panel for a Sustainable Ocean Economy.

The role:

We are now preparing for the second round of the Katapult Ocean Accelerator program which will feature 11-13 exciting ocean tech start-ups. We strive to deliver the world’s best program for ocean startups focusing on growth, commercialization and impact. To achieve this, we are looking for talented, driven and passionate interns to help plan, support and execute the program. The program runs from November 18th to February 22nd.

We are looking for 3-4 interns to be a part of the Katapult Ocean team during the program. All interns will work together with the team on everyday tasks in the program. To offer relevant work experience, we have categorised the internship into two different roles:

Program intern (help plan and execute the accelerator program, prepare for session, support startups, ad hoc tasks)

Marketing intern (work together with the marketing manager on marketing and communication projects, such as social media, content production, SEO, newsletter, webpage, etc)

We are specifically looking for interns with relevant studies that might use the internship as part of study curriculum (e.g. as alternative to elective courses)

If you are interested in applying for one of these positions, please tell us a bit about your self, what you have done and what you want to achieve - and of course why you would like to be an intern in the Katapult Ocean accelerator program, and which intern position you are applying for.

Why intern with us?

  • Get valuable experience inside a fast paced startup accelerator
  • Have the chance to work to be part of building Katapult Ocean with a mission to save our oceans and build great companies
  • Connect with investors, corporates, mentors and startups from all over the world
  • Relevant working experience
  • Flexible working hours - since this is a voluntary position you might come and go as you like
  • Office located in the heart of Oslo

Start date: preferably November 4th
