Tracked.bio is a biotechnology company that develops fully automated phenotyping and identification systems for model organisms. We utilize custom made designs that combine deep learning with computer vision to gather millions of data points every hour, every day for the entire lifespan of an organism. The tracked.bio platform addresses the critical need for methodologies able to reduce cost and effectively evaluate the efficacy of aging intervention

Objective:

The mission of the internship is to increase the life- and healthspan of the fruit flies, as potential treatments in mammals.

Primary tasks:

• Test interventions from our lab, on Drosophila melanogaster, and assess their lifespan.

Secondary tasks:

• Cook and exchange fly food each week
• Optimize drug doses used
• Determine metrics such as food consumption
• Participate in other drosophila related experiments

Requirements:

• Currently or are seeking a student position in Denmark
• Eager to learn and maintain organized methodology
• Maintain a laboratory notebook

The most important competencies are therefore that you are:

• Curiosity- & deadline-driven
• Speak and write English fluently (Danish is also of interest, but not a requirement
• Highly-motivated and innovative mindset
• Able to collaborate with various specialties
• Ability to work independently, and seek out necessary resources when needed
