We are looking for people who are experienced journalist, editors and in the field of sales and marketing. You will be working closely with our founder. The Oslo Desk has already achieved attention locally and within the international community. There are many exciting things to come. Join us in the effort to bring peace, social justice and diversity through journalism and media for the foreigners and internationals living in Norway.

The Oslo Desk is moving forward after a serie of successes with completing an investigation on financial inclusion assessing the challenges of 200 foreigners opening a bank account, nominated to pitch at the Nordic Media Festival and our journalism training program funded by Oslo Kommune for immigrants and refugees, and this year will be to carry on the momentum and launch our sales funnel and other plans.

We have 3 positions, although unpaid for the time being but you will feel very rewarded for your contribution. Perhaps you will find yourself wanting to become a co-founder of The Oslo Desk and have the ability to take us a step further? Perhaps you will see other innovative ways? You must be a problem-solver and willing to wear more hats if needed.

 

1.) Editor to help us edit our articles, search and apply for funding, project manage our investigations, understand the Norwegian media law would be a great asset, can speak both English and Norwegian would be great, have an attitude of a mentor, creative, open-minded and would be helpful if you are business savvy or understand the startup world.

2.) (Multimedia) Journalists to help write articles, collaborate with other journalists for our investigations, interested in social justice, can assist with training interns, can take photos and videos, search and apply for funding, communicative, creative, open-minded, and committed to our cause. Would be helpful if you understand the startup world. Good if you understand Norwegian too.

3.) Sales and marketing to help with our social media channels, newsletters (mail chimp), executing our sales plan, coming up with new sales funnel, website savvy, media outreach, finding leads to generate potential sales, search and apply for potential funding, good with crisis communication and understand the startup world. Would be good if you understand a bit about journalism and social justice. Language required - English and a good enough level of Norwegian.

These positions is right for those who already have a residence permit, relatively settled in Norway, looking for opportunities to shine in a job where you may not have that opportunity in your current workplace, looking for diversity and flexibility.
