We are 15-person distillery and fermentation workshop in Copenhagen, operating outside of the conventional categories of spirit production. We are seeking an executive assistant to support the executive management team, consisting of our two founders, Lars Williams and Mark Emil Hermansen, and Head of Sales and Marketing, Ian Manners.


ABOUT US

We are 15-person distillery and fermentation workshop in Copenhagen, operating outside of the conventional categories of spirit production. Instead, we focus on mining the best ingredients - from biodynamic heirloom barley to fermented Japanese bonito - for their full flavour potential. We distil at 10 degrees Celcius, which allows us to retain botanical subtleties and the nuances created during fermentation, instead of heating everything to the typical boiling point and destroying the more delicate flavours.

Since the beginning, around two years ago, the business has been growing rapidly and we have now reached a point where the continued growth of the company depends on the ability of the executive team to focus on what they do best. The executive assistant will greatly contribute to making this possible and we are therefore excited to create and fill this role as soon as possible.

THE ROLE

Empirical Spirits is seeking an executive assistant to support the executive management team, consisting of our two founders, Lars Williams and Mark Emil Hermansen, and Head of Sales and Marketing, Ian Manners.

We are looking for someone who is a driven problem solver capable of creating structure in a fast moving environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Ensure that the Executive Team achieves their responsibilities through an understanding of how company goals translate into day-to-day priorities

• Provide management and logistical support to achieve the goals of the Executive Team including but not limited to calendar and time management, organization of travel, meeting preparation, in-meeting minutes, tracking and closing follow ups

• Manage existing administrative systems and build out new processes to streamline team operations, including managing the office space, creating and maintaining records systems, managing the flow of asks on the time of the executives that reflects an understanding of their priorities, and, most importantly, independently identifying ongoing opportunities to organize and systemize operations

• Research and compile data to support the preparation of presentations for the Board of Directors, Committees, and Executives.

• Provide support in the form of handling of special projects, taking an interest in proactively expanding their contribution.

• Represent Empirical over the phone and in person with a great people/client service orientation


REQUIREMENTS AND PREFERRED QUALITIES 

• Candidate has direct or related executive assistant experience

• Drive and the ability to apply common sense and logic to solve problems

• Passion for organization, highly practical, meticulous about detail and accuracy

• Ability to juggle multiple assignments in parallel

• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both internally and externally, within a fast-paced environment

• Openness and ability to learn and improve quickly

• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, along with a general comfort level with learning and using new software tools

• High school (STX, HF or similar) diploma.
