Junior operations engineer

At bmetric we are looking for a part-time/student employee (15-20 hours a week) for our operations team. Our operations team is responsible for our high traffic platform. They ensure 24/7 availability and that everything runs smoothly. They are constantly working to improve our diverse infrastructure, are open to new ideas and technologies.


It will be your responsibility, together with the team, to:

  • Maintain and continuously improve our infrastructure
  • Optimize and automate our workflows and mission-critical systems
  • Develop innovative solutions for the use, operation and monitoring of the systems
  • Monitor and control our infrastructure in integration, staging and live environments
  • Collaborate with an international, responsible and agile team

 

Essential skills:

  • Linux systems administration
  • Web application administration

 

Desirable skills:

Preferably you are familiar with some of the following technologies and skills, listed in no particular order:

Nagios, Munin, Statsd/Graphite/Grafana, Varnish, Apache, mod_wsgi, Linux/CentOS, PostGreSQL administration and backup, general backup and disaster recovery planning, Ansible, Atlassian Bamboo, shell scripting, Python/Django and SQL (basic knowledge), resource planning, cloud operations, Sentry, Logstash
