We are looking for a full-time backend php developer as a remote worker. You will be responsible refactoring and build features for our platform together with the rest of the development team.

The development team consist of Dmitry (Russia) who is leading the team, Febrian who is mainly doing backend and sitting with the designers in Indonesia and Souvik who is responsible for frontend and located in India. 

We have recently launched a new platform, where our customers can upload their presentations, give feedback to slides and communicate directly with our designers. It’s a project management platform built specifically for presentations and made in Laravel - a php framework.

24Slides exists to change the lives of creative people living in emerging markets. There are so many extremely talented people that don’t get a chance to use their skills to create value. We are changing that, by hiring the best designers in Indonesia and giving them an opportunity for an attractive professional career working for some of the largest companies in the world. 

Today we are 70 employees that work with clients like Deloitte, Novozymes, Roche, and many more. We have been profitable from the beginning and we are planning to continue to grow that way with a goal of being 1000 people within 4-5 years.  

Your job

Your job will be to build features on the platform that will either help attract more customers or make our working processes more efficient. Every week we have a meeting where we plan the sprint for the week and prioritize. We use Trello board to manage the development process and communicate via Skype and Slack. 

Reporting to Dmitry, you will be responsible for:

• Designing and implementation of web-based back-end components
• Maintaining high code quality and component architecture
• Hunting bottlenecks and improving performance of the application
• Diagnosing issues on live servers and proactively propose improvements to scale our architecture with our growth

Who are we looking for?

• You know PHP very well, minimum 3+ years of experience
• You love good software development – simplicity, common sense, elegant code
• You have used modern web frameworks, Laravel >= 5.3 is preferable
• You have strong knowledge with Linux, Git, 
• You have strong expertise in one (or more) of the following technologies: Nginx, Mysql, Redis, auto testing tools
• You’re able to fix small front-end issues using Javascript (good knowledge of JS and modern JS libraries will be a bonus)
• You speak English well

Besides the requirements above, we need a team member who is self-motivated and can work independently. You will be responsible for your own success, but, at the same time, you will collaborate and communicate with people across the world. This requires the ability to work with different cultures. Experience in this area is definitely an advantage. 

Salary will depend on your experience, but between $2000-$3500 / month
