MakeImpact

Make!mpact is a Nordic Impact Fintech startup with a focus on sustainability and impact investing and our goal is to generate a positive societal impact by changing people’s financial behaviour.  Make!mpact in a nutshell: We are not here to tell you how to live sustainable – nor are we here to tell you what is right or wrong when it comes to investing your money. We know that there are many ways in which you can make the world a better place, but we also know that one of the most effective ways to – collectively – make a difference, is by investing in companies that are helping to generate a positive societal impact. You might already now be thinking that investing is for someone with years of experience and deep industry knowledge – and of course, a lot of money to invest. While this may be true for many of the impact investors out there, it definitely shouldn’t stop you from getting started on your own impact investing journey – no matter your income or knowledge about investing and/or sustainability. Our app matches the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to global listed companies that share the same values as you. Our goal is to enable you to make informed decisions about investments that align with your values represented in the 17 SDGs and thereby get you started investing with a sustainable mindset. The Team: The team currently consists of 32 passionate, innovative and purpose-driven people with the 2 founders in the management team and then a large group of highly qualified young people (students and newly graduates) with various competencies within Business Development, Data Science, UX & Service Design, Marketing, Communication, and Finance. See organizational diagram here on: https://theorg.com/org/makeimpact/org-chart Varan Pathmanathan (CEO & Founder) has more than 10 years of experience within the financial sector, where his focus mainly has been on IT, Strategy, Business Development, Sales, Marketing and Fintech. Christopher Trunk Black: (Co-founder) has more than 15 years of professional experience of being a consultant and strategic advisor to both large global corporations as well as to tech startups – in particular within the fintech space. Combining our different educational backgrounds, our unique insights into various industries as well as our strong belief in the core idea of Make!mpact, we can take Make!mpact from the drawing board and bring it to life – ready to empower YOU to invest in tomorrow’s world.

Project Iceman

Project Iceman is an ambitious project that sets out to prove that #limitationsareonlyperceptions by setting up the first ever, World Record breaking Ironman distance triathlon in Antarctica, the Iceman. The Iceman is the first in a series of events that will put focus on mental health. The project was officially initiated in June 2018 and is the first step of establishing The Iceman Foundation, an organization that will establish and promote 'Mental Empowerment' for all.  We’re a tightly knitted group of people with a clear philosophy of life: Limitations are only perceptions. This is evident in everything we do and how we work. That means we go with what we find interesting and valuable to our cause. If it’s cool, fun, and worthwhile, we spend time testing and potentially going with it. We believe we can do whatever we set our minds to, which is why we’re always up for trying out an idea - no matter how ‘crazy’ it is.In practice this is carried out in close collaboration with one another. Everyone who wants to contribute are inviter to take part, but we each take responsibility of the things we find most interesting. It’s a wealth of freedom but it also requires courage, discipline, and a positive attitude. We’re a sporty group and like to stay active. Whether you’re into bikini, running, swimming, fitness, football, badminton, squash, paddle tennis, or any other sport, we’re happy to go and have fun with it together. This doesn’t exclude us from having the celebratory beer once in a while when we achieve some of our milestones - even though many think completing an Ironman requires a 100% clean diet and full focus on training (which is not necessarily the case, we eat homemade pizza and watch movies every Sunday everning!). We’re open, free, happy and positive. We encourage creativity and allow ourselves to do what we find most interesting.
