ChurchDesk is looking for a backend or frontend engineer to build features, design and implement API’s, and improve the performance and reliability of our application.
We are looking for engineers that understand that simplicity and reliability are aspects of an application to be carefully calculated with every decision made.
We’re a small collaborative team who genuinely enjoys working together with a cross-functional team to make ChurchDesk a better product.
We build our app using reliable tools that our team knows and trusts, including Node.js, JavaScript, Typescript, React, MySQL and Linux. Expertise in these areas is a huge plus, but having familiarity with other common web languages (such as Java, Python, Go, PHP or Ruby) or other frameworks (such as Angular, Vue, Ember.js) are fine substitutes.
You'll brainstorm with Product Managers, Designers, Backend, and Frontend Engineers on our team to conceptualize and build new features for our growing user base.
You’ll produce high-quality results by contributing heavily to team projects that have a significant impact on the business.
You’ll actively own team features or applications and define their long-term health, while also improving the health of surrounding systems.
You'll mentor other engineers and deeply review code.
You’ll improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes.
You’ve been building web applications professionally for 3+ years.
You can contribute to technical architecture discussions and help drive technical decisions within your team.
You write understandable, testable code with an eye towards maintainability.
You are a strong communicator. Explaining complex technical concepts to designers, support, and other engineers is no problem for you.
You possess strong computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, programming languages, distributed systems, and information retrieval.
You have completed a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent training, fellowship, or work experience.
A key role in a product team of 6 people. We are low on ceremony and keep lean processes.
An opportunity to sharpen or broaden your skills FE, BE or operations wise.
We are a small company. As a core member you get to brainstorm with anyone.
Great social environment. Annual company ski trip, product team trips, burger nights and getting your ass kicked in board games if you are up for it.
We’d love if you are churchgoer, but you don’t have to be. Most of us are not, and we are not a religious organization.
