In this role you will use your passion for startup-related data and your skills with both server- and client- side technologies to expand and enrich our existing toolkit. As part of our Data Team, expect to delve into modern applications of client-server technologies. Examples would be enabling human-machine communication with our Machine Learning models, implementing the next generation (ML-oriented) unit tests and efficiently hosting and serving large amounts of data!

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Hosting and maintaining server-side databases.

• Implementing and expanding existing interfaces between said databases and the team.

• Expanding above our existing internal company API ecosystem and both client- and server-side toolkit.

• Babysitting servers.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

• Over two years of experience in a relevant field.

• Extensive knowledge of Javascript.

• Extensive knowledge of one or more Javascript frameworks, with emphasis on React.

• Extensive knowledge of technologies pertaining to service-oriented project structure, including Docker, Git and Microsoft Azure.

• Extensive knowledge of databases and data storage, with emphasis on MongoDB and the NoSQL design paradigm.

• Familiar with software engineering best practices (e.g. unit testing, code reviews, design, documentation).

• Ability to work well with both in-person and remote geeky peers.

• A self-sufficient and highly responsible mentality!

EXTRA POINTS IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING:

• Functional experience with the data-science tech-stack, especially Python.

• Functional knowledge of data mining concepts.

• Knowledge of the basics behind Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence, especially in the context of Natural Language Processing.
