The job

You will collaborate with our engineer in the embedded hardware design department to accelerate the development of the embedded software running on our control systems for solar power plants.

Your hobby background and projects will be vital. We are interested in what you have done, not what your grades are.

Your work hours and location are flexible, as long as you deliver the results.

We have office space in DTU Risø campus (Roskilde) and DTU Lyngby.

Our production is located in Glostrup.

 

Responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing software for embedded devices and systems, mostly based on ESP32.

  • Interfacing with hardware design and development.

  • Transforming the needs of the company into functional code.

Your qualifications

  • A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar.

  • Experience on previous job or hobby projects in writing code for microcontrollers in: C, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, PHP, MySQL.

  • Preferential skills (nice to have): GIT, SSH, VPN, Linux, C++, Arduino, Python, Raspberry pi, Grafana.

 

Your first project

  1. You will modify our wireless mesh network to work in the long range mode, provided by the manufacturer of our micro-controller (ESP32).

  2. You will implement the necessary changes to switch from WiFi interface to Ethernet interface.

  3. You will implement the ability to remotely update the firmware of our devices through the wireless mesh network.

  4. You will implement remote access to our devices to access web interfaces, and to send software updates remotely.

  5. To the current system for sending data to the database, you will add a local data-logging on a micro-SD card to record data in case of lack of internet connection.

Later you will work on improving our remote monitoring web interface, suggesting and implementing the front-end and back-end changes to make the use of data more convenient, graphs, alarms management, data export, automatic invoicing the service to customers.
