Who is GoBoat?

GoBoat came to life because we wanted to provide unique experiences and unforgettable memories on the water to as many people as possible. We provide a service for people to rent a boat, and go sailing on the water in some of the most beautiful harbours in the world.

We’re a young and agile team, that work closely together in a fun environment, making sure the daily life of our customers and partners run as smoothly as possible. 

We are currently present in 9 locations across the world, including Copenhagen, London and Melbourne. Right now we’re in the process of accelerating our growth by scaling into new locations, but also by introducing new concepts. To accommodate that we need to expand our organisation, including our tech team.

We are therefore looking for a Senior Software Engineer to both get her/his hands dirty, but also to build and lead our team of developers.

 We are looking for

As Senior Software Engineer you will first and foremost participate in the day-to-day development of our booking and boat management system (the system that all our local businesses use), but also work with data, website development and app development. You will manage the tech team (currently one full-time developer and will grow) and report directly to the CEO. You will become part of the leadership team and be the driving force in expanding the tech-team over the coming year(s).

You have…

• At least 5 years of commercial experience preferably as a Javascript developer, with extensive experience in both the frontend (React) and the backend (Node, express, etc..). 

• Preferably experience with Test-driven development using tools such as Jest and Cypress.

• Experience with Git, Feature Branching and Continuous Integration.

• Preferably experience in Scrum or similar agile working methodology.

• An eagerness to learn and an ambition to make a difference.

• It is a plus if you have experience with systems architecture.

The day to day

• You will be working closely with the rest of the team to develop our in-house booking and boat management system.

• You will have a big influence and impact on the system and the technologies going forward.

• You will shape and have a significant impact on the way your team should work.

• You will participate in code reviews and provide feedback to your colleagues to help you and your team grow.

• You will participate in the leadership meetings and grow as a leader.
