As a Venture Architect, you will work closely with the Senior Venture Architect and the rest of the Incubation Studio team to develop innovative, fun, and engaging new products, experiences and services with a focus on play, learning and creativity.
An exciting journey ahead
Founded in 2018, LEGO Ventures is the venture capital arm of the LEGO Group, focusing on the future of learning, creativity, and play. The LEGO Ventures Incubation Studio is our launchpad for exploring new systems-in-play, focused on developing new playful concepts, products, and services that hold the potential to become new businesses. We are an agile, interdisciplinary team, focused on pushing the boundaries of the industry. For us, success equals the ability to quickly test and validate ideas, build prototypes and incubate new businesses. Your work will make a direct impact on our mission to inspire and develop the builders of tomorrow and our vision to be a global force for establishing and innovating Learning-through-Play. You will be anchored in the Incubation Studio core team in Billund, Denmark, to take part in developing the full continuum from early venture opportunities to MVPs and help with the establishment of a strong rigorous, data-driven and analytical culture and approach to identifying and validating new venture opportunities.
Your responsibilities include participating in business development and validation activities for new venture opportunities together with the Senior Venture Architect – and often in collaboration with the other members of the Incubation Studio team and/or external entrepreneurs and domain experts. Basically, you’ll be working on everything it takes to take an idea from paper to reality – including:
Exploring and analysing markets and trends
Sizing markets, as well as identifying trends and relative positioning
Performing competitive analysis and identify current best practices and market leaders
Engaging with customers using both qualitative and quantitative research methods to truly understand their needs
Identifying, developing, testing, confirming and adjusting business-critical hypothesis with actual evidence from the market
Performing rapid prototyping and testing potential solutions in collaboration with the Incubation Studio team
Participating in development of marketing messaging and content creation for the initial test campaigns to validate the venture opportunities
Running small initial test campaigns to determine willingness to pay and expected customer acquisition cost
Synthesize insights across sources and data-points and transform them into key conclusions and strategic recommendations
Contribute in documenting and communicating key learnings and insights to stakeholders across other entities
Do you have what it takes?
We are looking for a strong communicator with an entrepreneurial and learning mindset and the ability and willingness to work in/with multiple interdisciplinary teams across the LEGO Ventures Incubation Studio portfolio. You are a team-playing self-starter and comfortable working with limited direction or oversight – thus, the ability to prioritize your own workload, align dependencies with co-workers, and make sure deadlines are met, are some of your key characteristics.
We imagine that you have experience from working within management consulting, venture capital, startups, accelerators or something related. But this could also be your first full-time job if you are a top student with successful and relevant internships.
To succeed in this role, we expect that you have experience with some – and ideally most – of the points below:
Awareness – and maybe even deep practical understanding - of Lean Startup methodologies
Analytical skills (statistical skills preferred). You love analysing digital data to gather insights and build a story, whether it is market insights, experiment results or product analytics
Hands-on experience with paid media tools like Facebook Ads Manager and Google AdWords
Hands-on experience with analytics tools like Google Analytics, Mix Panel and AppsFlyer
Hands-on experience with quantitative and qualitative research methods, e.g. qualitative interviews and surveys
Experience in preparing presentations and delivering them to various stakeholders
Experience of work in a high-paced environment with exposure to several multidisciplinary teams
You should expect to travel 2-3 weeks a year.
If you have the passion, grit and curiosity to participate in building innovative businesses from the ground up, we invite you to join our mission.
