About SolarSack
According to the World Health Organization, 2.2 billion people do not have access to safe drinking water leading to sickness and 485,000 diarrhoeal deaths yearly. Some people boil to clean contaminated water, but this hurts the environment leading to significant levels of CO2 and contributing to deforestation. Many good purification methods exist. Still, they are all prohibitively expensive for users, who are often among the poorest people on the planet. SolarSack is the only non-chemical water purification solution that is affordable for people who have less than $2 a day.
SolarSack is a water container that utilizes the Solar Water Disinfection Technique endorsed by the World Health Organization as a safe way to purify water. By harnessing UVA and UVB rays along with heat from the sun, the SolarSack kills more than 99,99 % of dangerous pathogens in water.
