We are looking for a senior PostgreSQL Developer to join our team. You will be responsible for managing and further developing our AWS RDS DB structure and scripts across various object types including tables, views, procedures, functions, and triggers. You should have experience in functional testing, regression testing, and data level regression testing as well as refactoring, testing and performance tuning SQL scripts and database processes.


YOU NEED:

  • 3+ years of experience with script development, performance tuning, refactoring, and testing of PostgreSQL

  • Ability to efficiently write database code without compromising data quality, privacy or security

  • Knowledge of JSON and PostgreSQL support for JSON

  • Extensive experience with all complex data models & database script across all database object types – tables, views, procedures, functions, triggers

  • Knowledge of database design principles, query optimization, index management, integrity checks, statistics and isolation levels

  • Experience collaborating with software engineers & teams to solve complex application problems

  • Familiarity with Git and Jira

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implement and maintain database code in the form of stored procedures, scripts, queries, views, triggers, etc.

  • Work closely with the CTO to implement effective and maintainable database coding practices that form an architectural foundation

  • Ensure efficiency of database code, integrity of data structures and quality of data content

  • Work with product owner to ensure database code meets requirements

  • Ensure database code is accurately documented

  • Work with other team members to review user stories, estimate effort to build functionality supporting user stories, and participate in sprint reviews

This is a full-time position. You'll be based at Maria01 in Helsinki. We have a flexible remote policy.
