Hey, we're Shield - stats and analytics for LinkedIn, Software-as-a-Service 👋 We're looking for a intern to help coordinate our new podcast, proactively reaching out to guests, doing background research, scheduling interviews, effectively making sure each episode advance through the pipeline until it's published and promoted. The interviews will be conducted by our CEO, but you will be responsible for the processes and podcast behind the scenes 🎙️✨
We're a Copenhagen based tech startup with a small, tight-knit multinational team and a diverse mix of backgrounds. We help companies empower their employees to become brand ambassadors on LinkedIn, and we help professionals build and grow personal brands. We do this through a commercial dashboard solution, bringing stats and analytics to LinkedIn through Software-as-a-Service.
You live in Copenhagen. And you likely study here. Something related to business, communication, project management, etc. would make a lot of sense, but we are open-minded. You're interested in tech and startups, and you're great at communicating. You are very operational, well organized, detail oriented and know how to make a project move forward.
Perhaps you have had a project manager role before. Not full-time, obviously, since you're still studying, but you have had the responsibility to drive an initiative forward, and done so successfully.
You likely also listen to a handful of podcasts and know what constitutes a good one.
We want to launch a podcast here in 2020. And we like to believe that we are in a unique position to do so. We have built a brand and a product that gets a lot of attention on LinkedIn, from top influencers and LinkedIn power-users, agencies around the world, and some of the coolest brands in tech and other industries.
As such, we have an opportunity to talk to really interesting and relevant people about their journeys and how LinkedIn has played a pivotal role for them.
Needless to say, launching, maintaining and growing a podcast is no easy feat. It requires a dedicated effort - and time. As such, we need help.
Our CEO, Andreas, will be interviewing the guests, and we will leverage his personal brand to get the best of the best on our show. Running everything behind the scenes is where you come in.
To get the idea of what that means, here's a list from our friends at Sweet Fish Media, describing all the activities involved in launching and running a podcast: https://sweetfishmedia.com/podcasting-for-business/
Your job will effectively be to coordinate this podcast project and make sure it moves forward, leaving the interviews to be done by our CEO, and creative visuals to be done by our creative team.
If you're super amazing, which we believe you will be, you also write the marketing copy, show notes, and plan distribution and promotion too.
We offer an international environment with a diverse mix of professionals from a variety of professional and cultural backgrounds with plenty of opportunity to learn and grow both personally and professionally.
The position begins as an unpaid internship for 2 months and is estimated to 15 hours per week spread across two full working days (9-16). For the right candidate, we will move on to a part-time, paid student position and onwards from there.
Despite this being an internship, we see you as an equal. We won't micro-manage you, and we expect a certain level of autonomy and initiative to get yourself unstuck. You will sit with the entire team in an open office space and learn as we go. But you must be able to execute, not just strategize. We need operators.
We are flexible around exam periods and do allow for remote work when/if this is more convenient. We will discuss this as we go along.
You will be joining the team at our Copenhagen office, located centrally at Nørrebro close to the lakes and public transportation (literally right outside the door). We recommend biking, though.
For the right candidate, joining Shield is a growth opportunity like no other and you will be among the first group of employees in this rocketship of a startup.
Our company has experienced growth since day 1, even through the pandemic with *no* external support or funding. Ever. We are purely customer financed through revenue. And quite proud of it!
Ps. We have all the needed equipment to make a professional show.
You likely study at one of the Universities in or around Copenhagen. You are fluent in written and spoken English.
Need-to-have:
You have relevant experience from work or studies (so you can hit the ground running)
You are detail-oriented and structured
You write and communicate well (in English)
You're not afraid of jumping into calls to coordinate (mostly via Zoom)
You have a chatty personality (you will send many emails and DMs)
You have a natural interest in technology, startups and social media
You have a genuine interest in helping others be successful
You take initiative and is not afraid of failing (and learning from mistakes)
You are no stranger to working with deadlines
You have a positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow
Other languages is a plus but not necessary.
If you can also edit and produce the podcast episodes that's a big plus but not mandatory :)
If you are still here, send your application today. We conduct interviews on a continuous basis and look to bring on the right candidate as soon as possible.
We encourage you to apply regardless of gender, ethnicity, religion or otherwise. We look for someone with an open mind who wants to learn and get the job done :-)
(!) It's a requirement that you can be physically present with us at the SHIELD HQ in Copenhagen.
(!) Be personal in your outreach to us. Make us want to respond. Be you. A generic message will get a generic reply.
