Literably (https://literably.com/) is a fast-growing education technology company that provides early literacy assessment software to elementary schools. Using their product, K-5 students can read out loud into a mobile device, generating key data for reading instruction that would otherwise be collected manually. This saves teachers enormous amounts of time and drives critical intervention decisions for young readers.
Literably currently serves over 500 schools, and among their customers are several of America's largest school districts, including Orange County Public Schools and Spokane Public Schools.
They are looking for an experienced software engineer with both back-end and front-end skills to build out their core assessment processing system. They work in Python/Django but specific experience with this stack is not required. Familiarity with signal processing, audio data analysis, machine learning, and automated speech recognition is a plus.
Building the backend for new features using Python and Django, mixture audio processing and natural language processing.
Writing high-quality code and prioritizing quality over quantity.
Creating optimized database queries for Postgres and Redis.
Signal processing, audio data analysis, automated speech recognition, and machine learning is helpful (statistical modeling)
Have 3 years of relevant software experience.

Overall understanding of Django would be an added bonus, but not required.
