The LEGO Ventures Incubation Studio is looking for a Founder in Residence to lead and build our new venture opportunity, Playphonic.

Playphonic is a conversational, audio-driven play and learning experience for children and families. The platform activates children's imagination from a wide selection of games - from science to fantasy.

At the LEGO Ventures Incubation Studio, we believe there’s an exciting opportunity to engage children by igniting their imagination through immersive audio. At its core, Playphonic is looking to develop and revolutionize audio-driven play.

Upon haven demonstrated initial product-market fit, it is our ambition to spin out Playphonic as a NewCo.

About the role

We are looking for a Founder in Residence to lead Playphonic and take it to market. As Founder in Residence, it is your responsibility to define a clear vision for Playphonic’s future, build the business model and product functionality, define the go-to market strategy, identify key coreteam members and manage project budget through the build-phase. Throughout the build phase you will receive operational support from the LEGO Ventures Incubation Studio and our network of experts. Our ideal candidate is a proven entrepreneurial leader who can balance the competing demands of testing, learning, and building a business and team from scratch while also bringing key stakeholders / executives along on the journey.

Responsibilities

• Execute the successful build and launch of Playphonic

• Setting a clear vision for the business, (including both commercial and product direction)

• Identify and attract needed resources that can execute the vision and bring Playphonic to market

• Be able to balance short term deliverables against the long term goals

• Managing the allocated budget

The perfect candidate has the following skills, qualifications and attributes

• A proven track record of taking ideas all the way from concept to product launch through to market traction

• Past success finding product-market fit through user testing

• Hands-on experience in working with customers and developing tech products

• An entrepreneurial mindset and a can-do attitude

• Previously recruited and retained a hard-working, dedicated team

• Data-oriented mindset and a driven approach to decision making

• Significant drive, energy, and comfort working in a fast-paced environment

• Great communication skills and willingness to collaborate

• A curious mind and a passion for building impactful businesses

• 5+ years experience in Business, Product, Tech or Marketing roles and a degree in a similar or related discipline
