BrainCapture (www.braincapture.dk) is a DTU based start-up that delivers low cost mobile EEG equipment for epilepsy detection; our mission is to close the epilepsy treatment gap in low and middle-income countries by combining low cost hardware with state of the art AI / machine learning algorithms.


BrainCapture is looking for a dedicated engineering manager who wants to make an impact in the world and direct and lead our product development. The engineering manager will collaborate closely with the founding researchers at DTU and Harvard and the company CEO. As we are a small start-up you will be able to have a large influence on the direction of the technical development and the company as whole.

 The engineering manager should be able to lead the technical activities and have hands-on experience and interest in performing some of the tasks. We do not expect you to have detailed knowledge of all the tasks but you should be able to take an active role in securing that we reach our development goals and the product deliveries.

The tasks you will be working on includes the following keywords:

App development

  • iOS/Android as well as Web application development

  • User interface design

  • Bluetooth connection, device control and data transfer

  • Near-real time data processing and visualisation

Cloud and Backend

  • Architecture and API design

  • Data transfer protocols,

  • Storage and access control,

  • Multisite instances

  • GDPR and HIPAA Compliance

Embedded software (Cortex-M)

  • HW control and signalling

  • Signal processing filters

  • Bluetooth communication

  • Versioning and OTA firmware updates

Certification

  • Device level class IIA CE/FDA certification

Hardware

  • Manage consultants,

  • Contract management

  • (Review design, schematics and VHDL)

Development environment

  • DevOps / Continuous Integration and Deployment

  • Create/maintain the development pipeline, version control, release management, etc.

  • Development of an ISO13485 certified quality management system

Our founding team consists of leading AI professors from DTU, a Harvard professor in Epilepsy, engineers with execution experience and strong senior investors. We have secured funding through investors, loans and European grants for the next phase of our growth.

Currently few people in Low and Middle Income Countries have access to the diagnostic tools needed to initiate treatment of epilepsia. This is partly due to the cost of standard equipment and partly due to the need for highly trained professionals to use the equipment.
