We are hiring a student developer to join our Product team, so we can continue delivering great features. At Proper, we automate the day-to-day management of our homes, offices and shops. By rethinking and automating processes, we remove almost all the hassles. We are present throughout Denmark, and you will help us expand to more countries. We are a venture fund startup and have the 3 largest VC’s in Denmark as investors. Since Dec' 18 we have experienced a monthly growth of 30%.

About the job

You will join a team of experienced developers and engineers at a great stage of our history, where you will work as a contact person to our Customer Success team helping them solve their challenges.  

You will be working with a variety of technologies such as DynamoDB, JSON, Java, NodeJS and tools such as Insomnia and Postman to request our API. You need to continuously implement tools to streamline and automate your own work.

We build our product through a design thinking philosophy. First we test the idea and business needs through a pretotype. When we have gained insights and understand the jobs to be done it’s time to improve and build a prototype. You will be a big part of designing and improving the pretotype and prototype. At the last stage we do the real implementation of the business logic in our main stack. This process is the key to how we stay fast and agile.

Needless to say, as we work with peoples homes and offices, and all the money flows through our software, we are serious about security and privacy.

We rely entirely on a serverless infrastructure on AWS. Most of our micro-services are written in Java, based on Clean Architecture and CQRS, using AWS Lambda, SQS, SNS, S3, and DynamoDB. In the frontend we use TypeScript, React (Next.js) with styled-components and a bit of Node.js. We plan to implement GraphQL and WebSockets soon.

About you

We are looking for a student developer who would thrive in a startup environment. To us, the right mindset is more important than experience. 

You are studying some sort of computer science or software engineering and are eager to join and learn from a very senior Product team. The right candidate has some programming experience. This could be Python, Node.js, Java or Bash. 

We expect you to be able to work 15-20 hours weekly, either two days per week full time or three days half time. 

We have made a strategic decision not to have a remote office, so you must be able to work at our office in Copenhagen.
