Red Leader is building the world's first software-defined HD lidar. They're creating a new sensing modality that breaks through industry-wide barriers resulting in 100x better point density while being scalable for manufacturing and tunable in software. Their fundamentally new architecture comes from their extensive backgrounds in optical communications, advanced digital signal processing, and cutting-edge computing.
They are seeking a Software Engineer to design, implement, and improve software on core technologies spanning numerical optimization, data ingestion and analytics, point cloud visualization, engineering simulation, and perception algorithms. In short, they have interesting problems at the intersection of mathematics and software engineering. Furthermore, because of their novel approach to sensing, you will have the unique opportunity to work with point clouds which are an order of magnitude denser than anything else available.
They offer health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) w/ employer matching and generous (but intentionally not unlimited!) PTO.
They provide also free breakfast, lunch, dinner & snacks and organize company social events & retreats
Design and implement software involving optimization, 3D data visualization, and simulation
Investigate and deploy computer vision algorithms and ML models for perception workloads
Architect and evaluate new algorithms based on novel data inputs
Build robust and scalable workflows for software development and data management
Propose future software development efforts
Support embedded software engineers with data ingestion and processing
Maintain comprehensive architecture & design documentation
Minimum 3 years of industry experience
Strong foundations in mathematics & statistics
Deep experience with of Python and C++
Experience with numerical libraries
Experience with computer vision and machine learning frameworks
