Matter’s mission is to make capital work for people and the planet. We are a financial technology company based in the heart of Nørrebro, Copenhagen. We are an international team comprised of talented people from England, Scotland, Iran, France and Denmark. Our journey is backed by a range of Danish and international investors, and we are increasingly facing new opportunities that go beyond the borders of Denmark. We hope to go there with you on board.
If you are looking for a job full of purpose, we are a passionate team of friendly developers, economists, creatives and social scientists who are dedicated to increasing the sustainability of one of the most important and powerful industries on earth. We are looking for a junior data analyst to jour our team.
At Matter, we want you to feel part of our collective journey, sharing ideas and concerns openly and productively, as well as joining our company trips, Friday bars, and other shared activities. We support flexibility, so you’re able to combine working at Matter with the demands of your studies, as well as an interest in horses, or kite surfing or whatever floats your boat. We value thoughtfulness and transparency, as well as vision and innovation, and strive to encourage this in each other, as well as our practices and products.
The role
The position is for a student assistant to support the current tech team in analysing the sustainability of investment portfolios. You will be involved throughout the process, from the data cleaning and initial screening through to the creation of the final report to be delivered to customers (pension companies and asset managers, for example). You will be backed up by our team of highly skilled and experienced developers in the hope that you can also add to the team with your own initiatives, idea and experience. This is an opportunity for a student with a quantitative background and knowledge about the financial sector to gain hands-on experience in a growing scale-up utilising exciting technology to increase the sustainability of investments.

We are looking for someone with a quantitative background that is an advanced user of Microsoft Excel. Further, the student should have a basic knowledge and experience in at least one scripting language, be it STATA, Python, Mathlab, R or similar. Previous experience within the financial sector and knowledge about equity and bond investments, portfolio theory and sustainable investing is also positive. Academic background is flexible, but you will need solid technical skills.

1. Advanced user of Microsoft Excel
2. Basic knowledge and experience in at least one scripting language -: VBA, Python, STATA, MatLab, R etc.
3. Experience in PowerBI would be a nice add-on, but not a requirement

- Develop automated reporting output in PowerBI

- Delicious, catered lunch
- Occasional Friday bars, office dog and kitten visits
Practicalities
- 15-20 hours a week
- Flexible working days
