DevOps Engineering is at the core of Caption Health’s software development. By combining systems and software engineering skills DevOps Engineers focus on the reliability, durability, efficiency, and security of their platform. Caption Health's focus is on automating away toil, blamelessly ensuring reliability and security, advising and supporting developers, and proactively anticipating the needs of their systems. Caption Health develops, automates, and monitors their hybrid cloud infrastructure, data science workflows, and CI/CD pipelines.


What you will be doing at Caption Health

  • Engage in and improve the development lifecycle of applications from concept and design, deployment, and beyond into operation and iteration

  • Architect, manage and, monitor cloud infrastructure, tools, and data with a bias towards automation and reproducibility

  • Develop and maintain computer cluster infrastructure and resources

  • Design, improve and monitor data storage systems and processing pipelines

  • Design and manage container orchestration systems

  • Coordinate directly with product, engineering, IT, and security teams to align on goals, interdependencies, and regulatory requirements

  • Develop tools to manage continuous integration, software stack support, code quality, and test coverage

  • Create CLI and web tools for automating repetitive engineering tasks and improving efficiency

  • Ensure security, privacy, and integrity of data and other resources


Things that make you a good fit

  • 3+ years of overall experience

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related technical field involving systems engineering, or equivalent practical experience

  • Experience in one or more of the following programming languages: Python (preferred), Golang, Ruby, Node.js

  • Exceptional UNIX/Linux skills in networking, storage, and computation

  • Public cloud (GCP, AWS, Azure) experience

  • Experience with continuous integration tools (e.g. Jenkins, CircleCI, Travis) and best practices for codebase management and testing


Appreciated but not required

  • Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, SaltStack, or Chef

  • Proven troubleshooting capabilities in complex systems

  • Strong TCP/IP networking, DNS, and HTTP knowledge

  • Knowledge of cryptography, PKI, and experience deploying services with TLS
