Caption Health was founded in 2013 on a simple but powerful concept: what if we could use technology to emulate the expertise of highly trained medical experts and put that ability into the hands of every care provider? Caption Health's vision is to move specialty diagnostics and decision making to the point of care for every patient exam. They are developing AI software that empowers healthcare providers with new capabilities to acquire and interpret ultrasound exams.
As a UX Designer & Researcher, you will specialise in one of Caption Health's core product areas and work on creating user-friendly, innovative experiences for healthcare providers. Their Design team is early stage, which means you’ll contribute to shaping the design culture and processes from the ground up and get to influence big and meaningful design problems. You’ll help create design systems, develop user insights through primary research, and collaborate closely with product managers, developers, marketing, and clinical partners to ensure successful product delivery.
Partner closely with cross-functional teams to understand business goals, product requirements, clinical needs, and regulatory considerations to create a product from initial definition to final implementation
Create user scenarios, wireframes, and prototypes to support product development, which may include experiences beyond the digital screen, considering and designing for the integrated user environment
Plan for and conduct qualitative and quantitative research at key design and product milestones; recruit, screen, and coordinate with research participants to ensure comprehensive and unbiased data
Be a champion for user-centered design thinking and strategy
Excellent grasp of design principles and prototyping tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, InVision, Framer, Figma, Keynote, pen & paper - whatever gets the work done and communicated effectively
Exceptional creativity and problem-solving skills for distilling complex problems into understandable concepts, user flows, and simple UI that supports ease of use
Being well-versed in human factors usability requirements, validation testing, and documentation (healthcare setting preferred)
Strong communications skills in articulating design decisions to peers and stakeholders; ability to give and receive critical feedback based on your design intuition as well as empathy for the user
Preferably 2–3 years of professional experience designing user-friendly products in a technology and/or healthcare setting, with a strong emphasis and interest in UX research
