Our vision is to work closely with creative people and build the best possible workflow for authoring character animations. Our solution, Swift Animation, builds on Virtual Reality technology to bring precise tracking and ease of use to game developers and animators. The co-founder position is an open opportunity to join an already funded startup with traction. It's a unique chance to skip the first 1,5 years of establishing the company and talking to investors, and go straight to the fun part.
You will join Sidetracked as a partner and owner. This is an opportunity to bring your vision to the table and take ownership in the project.
We are at a point right now where we have funding and traction. The product is in closed alpha with a selection of pilot customers and will be beta-ready by Q1 2020. This means that you can join the team at a point where you can shape and define the future of the product and the company.
You will join our small team as the second partner along with the original founder. He has a generalist 3D programming/communication profile with a core focus on games and virtual reality.
What we offer:
The chance to shape the future of a promising and funded startup. We have an investment from Borean Innovation along with a recent InnoBooster grant.
Creative freedom. We encourage new ideas and thinking outside the box. Our product, an animation tool in virtual reality, is new technology. There’s lots of room to explore new design ideas and new ways to sell it.
Equity
What you can offer (you don’t have to tick all these boxes, but the more the better):
A strong entrepreneurial spirit. The passion for building something of your own and making it successful.
Excellent communication skills. You will be talking to potential customers, create pitch materials, plan newsletters etc. Being able to clearly communicate the value of our product is key to our success.
A background in either marketing/branding, business development or programming.
An interest in virtual reality as a technology. You don’t need to have experience working with VR, but you should know what it’s about and understand the potential.
A moderate understanding of the difference between video, 3D animations and 3D modeling.
Generalist skillset. You should be able to pick up tasks in different areas and be willing to learn new skills as you go. We are a small startup and we need to cover many different aspects of managing a business.
Experience with game development. Maybe you have even shipped a game or two. You know the struggles of iterating quickly enough and delivering results across the team. Particularly, you know that 3D assets such as animations are time consuming to produce.
The application deadline is February 1st 2020 but we will conduct ongoing interviews.
