SubReader is a welfare-tech company, whose mission is to help people with dyslexia enjoy foreign language movies. Today SubReader offers dyslexics an app the enables them to get the subtitles read aloud on their favorite movies and TV-shows. SubReader is growing fast and now covers more than 70 cinemas, have integrations to Netflix, HBO and Viaplay and just launched our newest product for Schools. Our aim is to become the de-facto standard for integrations with subtitles.
Front-end Software Developer position at SubReader
Are you eager to develop solutions that will have a lasting and big impact on people? Then the job as a Front-end Software Engineer at SubReader lets you put your fingerprint on our software stack, helping thousands (and later millions) of dyslexics to get subtitles read aloud.
The team
You will be working in a small team of 6 passionate people, all motivated to create solutions that can help others. With the company still being in its early days, you’ll be working with people across the board, in order to develop the most feasible solutions and receive/give inputs. You can be expected to be seen as a part of the family and look forward to an informal work environment where everyone has a say.
The job
As software developer at SubReader, you will help shape the future of the app along with our streaming-service integrations. Your primary focus off work will be on optimising the user experience and conversion funnels, based on data received from our users. You will be working closely with our backend developer, our marketing manager and our CTO, in order to create a cohesive software stack and user-experience. As a startup, we believe in fluidity and experimentation. Previous experience, personal projects and universal curiosity is therefore highly appreciated.
The position is estimated to be 15-20 hours a week or more.
What are we looking for?
A person passionate for development, and eager to develop personal skills
A person possessing programming skills in: Modern JavaScript (ES6, React, React Native, TypeScript)
Skills in Apollo /GraphQL and Swift/Java is nice to have, but not a must
A Team player who are ready to give/receive input
A person with an eye for UI/UX and experience in design software, but not a must
