The Opportunity
The Roger web application is the client with the highest usage by customers and users. A great web experience is essential for an excellent overall customer experience in Roger, and it's a priority for us to invest in improving and building out our web offering.
We are looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to be an integral part of the small clients team (iOS, Android, Web). You'll be able to take a leading role in delivering an excellent web experience to our 1,000+ customers and our thousands of users. Your primary tasks will include:
- Working with the product and backend engineering team to implement new features on the frontend
- Making sure the web client can scale 7-10x in the next year
- Maintaining security and stability during rapid growth
- Help mitigate and resolve bugs / work with the customer support team to resolve frontend bugs
You'll be working collaboratively with the rest of the engineering team as well as with the product team to drive the implementation and release of new features. You'll get familiar with all parts of our stack from end to end, and will drive positive change to Roger's engineering culture, processes and technology. We see this role as a unique chance to take a large ownership over an important piece of the Roger product, and grow into any role you see yourself in as we expand the team and the product.
The Team
The engineering team is characterized by a high degree of support internally. We help each other out and pitch in when problems arise as well as give each other feedback to grow. Our top priority is to build the world's best financial automation platforms, while keeping our users safe and compliant. Scalability, reliability and robustness are keywords we live by but we also get excited about building out feature MVPs quickly to keep our innovative reputation with customers and partners alive and well at all times.
The Stack
We use as a frontend stack React/Redux for modularity, simplicity and speed of development. Tests are run in Jest and Puppeteer and our landing sites are optimized for server-side rendering using Next.js. Our backend / API is built in C# / .NET for it’s robustness and security and our machine learning runs on Python.
Some of the tools we use are Lamda (for integrations), AWS, Bugsnag, Heroku, CircleCI and other great tools to keep our development processes running smoothly.

The Roger Story
