After raising a 50+M DKK A-round, we're looking for new talented team members for our office in Copenhagen. As part of the backend team, you’ll help build out our core product by developing high-impact features used by thousands of customers on a daily basis. You’ll play an integral part in developing and shipping new features and updates to the Roger product. You’ll become familiar with all parts of our stack from end to end and design and implement your features to be scalable and resilient.

The Opportunity

As part of the backend team, you’ll help build out our core product by developing high-impact features used by thousands of customers on a daily basis. You’ll play an integral part in developing and shipping new features and updates to the Roger product. You’ll become familiar with all parts of our stack from end to end. You’ll design and implement your features to be scalable and resilient.

Your educational background isn’t as important as your ability to keep up in a very high-speed work day, juggling among different tasks and being passionate about building great things fast. Your main first main objective will be to assist the customer support team in keeping customer satisfaction high, as this is a great way to get started and learn everything about what we do at Roger.

Within the first month, you'll

Get your hands dirty helping our customer service team provide the best help possible to our customers on a daily basis. You'll get familiar with the code base by solving problems and fix bugs for customers. No two days are the same and you'll learn quickly. It's a rewarding job as you get to deploy fixes fast and efficiently.

Within 3 months, you'll

Continue you work making sure our platform is stable and continue to help our customer support team figure out causes for challenges our customers are experiencing. You'll take an active role in our bi-weekly sprints and participate in new feature development, both core products, and external APIs and as you become an integral part of the Roger engineering team.

Within 6 months, you'll

Build, launch, and support your first large impactful feature and you'll have made a big mark on the Roger product across the user base. You'll own or co-own a major feature area of the application, and are comfortable navigating most of our stack and infrastructure.

The engineering team is characterized by a high degree of support internally. We help each other out and pitch in when problems arise as well as give each other feedback to grow. Our top priority is to build the world's best financial automation platforms, while keeping our users safe and compliant. Scalability, reliability and robustness are keywords we live by but we also get excited about building out feature MVPs quickly to keep our innovative reputation with customers and partners alive and well at all times.

The Stack

Roger's backend is built on .NET with C#. We love the simplicity, speed and structure of C#, combined with the built-in security and robustness it offers developers. On the front-end we work in React and React Native, enabling us to build reliable web experiences that can handle high usage volumes.

Additionally, we make extensive use of Lamda (integrations only), AWS, Git, Bugsnag, Heroku and other great tools to keep our development processes running smoothly.

Having experienced all the frustrations with daily financial operations when starting previous ventures, the first gist of an idea for Roger was born in 2016.
