TransSense is a research based startup from DTU working on assistive technology for blind and visually impaired people. We aim at improving their everyday life by offering an AI assisted smart-glove.

TransSense is a research based startup from DTU working on assistive technology for blind and visually impaired people. We are currently working on an AI powered wearable, which enables a transcended sensing of the physical environment. The technology entails build-in sensors and cameras that provide input to AI modules, which in return give the user feedback about what is present via vibrators and audio.

Our aim is to improve the everyday life of blind people by offering a smart-glove that can be used to search for objects/signs and provide independence when moving around unknown areas. We have interviewed 15 blind people and tested an early prototype with great feedback, and will now create a new prototype to validate the users and customers. The project is accepted into the Skylab Incubator, has received a startup grant, and has been positively received by the users, health care system and startup ecosystem. Looking for a UX / 3D modelling expert! We offer a part-time student position with the aim to strengthen our design / UX expertise. Your major tasks will include development the design of the physical device and its usage, in collaboration with the people working on the electronics and software. You will be instrumental in nailing the interface design, how the product is actually going to be operated by the user, and thus take greatly part in user testing. You will also visualize the product and user scenarios in 2D/3D and create visual mockups.

Your qualifications:

• On or finished a B.Sc. in preferably Design & Innovation or or a related field

• Experience with product development, user testing, UX, interface design

• At least intermediate skill level within 3D modelling and ideally also graphic design

• You thrive in problem oriented work and are good at collaborating within the team
