SolarSack is the world cheapest water purification solution - a plastic bag that utilizes the sun’s UV rays to directly destroy microbiological contaminants. And we need you to help us mature the idea and bring it to the mass market. We are looking for an ambitious and enthusiastic engineer with production focus, who will join a small but highly competent, driven, and innovative team.

You will play a key role in making sure that SolarSack meets both internal and external expectations such as cost, out-of-the-box performance etc. You will become part of a competent and development-oriented team, focusing on bringing a high quality experience to the user, combining clever engineering and high tech plastics.

In the role as Production Engineer, you will ensure that product performance KPIs are communicated, targeted and delivered. You will complete design for manufacturing projects, instruct and advice the production partners and handle their production-related issues as well as making design changes and more.

You will be responsible for continuously optimizing production in collaboration with the selected contract manufacturer, coordinating with the development department, and understanding all processes in production to ensure optimal design/production flow and a product that delivers on all the expected criteria.

Your qualifications

You have an B.Sc, M.Sc. or equivalent in mechanical engineering, production or similar.

You have some years of experience from product development, combined with a few years of experience within a similar role where you have been part of new product introduction programs and preferably manufacturing of low cost volume products. We also expect you to have experience in some of the following:

• Design for manufacturing
• Project Management skills
• Desirable: Supply Chain knowledge, CAD

As a person, you are pragmatic, practical and realistic. You have a strong drive and are passionate about what you do. You give excellent attention to detail, whilst still having an appreciation for the greater picture. You have the ability, drive and overview of production processes allowing you to find the right solutions, ensuring that the full potential of the product will be fulfilled. You are a finisher and thrive in a flat organisation, where you will have an actual say, and you are used to working with many different stakeholders.

Working as part of an international company, we expect you to be willing to travel and you will need to be fluent in written and spoken technical English.
