Internship: Music Geek with a mind for Communication

Salary Competitive

Who are we? - Low-Fi is an online platform and a community where musicians, hosts and music lovers can connect to create intimate concerts in unique spaces. Our mission is to bring people closer to the music and to push for a fair music economy where musicians always get the biggest cut. In order to do this we need your help. We are looking for an intern in marketing and communications.

Who Are You?

You are busy doing your bachelor or masters degree and you live and breathe music and communication. Perhaps you are a musician yourself or maybe you spend far too many hours and kroners on live shows. Maybe you have blogged about music or worked at a venue. Certainly you have a network in one or several musical milieus and are not afraid of using it.

On top you are a skilled communicator, proficient in Danish and English, and you can work independently without being afraid to lay bare your doubts/curiosities and ask questions to further your knowledge.

We have a long list of jobs to do, so if you have skills that go beyond what we can imagine, please let us know about them in your application.

What will we be doing?

As an intern at Low-Fi you will get up-close and personal with the atmosphere and work at a passion driven startup, where everybody chips in where it is needed. We work with the Google Suite and you will also get very familiar with Mailchimp - knowledge of and experience with both is an advantage but not a requirement; what you do not already know, you will learn!

Your jobs will be many and varied and include:

  • Research and recruiting musicians and hosts (e.g. looking at labels, festivals, blogs and music sites to find the best musicians, find sneaky places or home concert hosts and get them turned on to the idea of Low-Fi)
  • Concept development (we are going to build an automated match-tool for musicians and hosts, and to suggest concerts for audiences).
  • Writing, editing and designing newsletters for hosts and musicians in Mailchimp.
  • Monitoring and gathering data about our users activity on the platform, and providing the necessary support for them.

What is in for You?

You will:

  • be a part of a passion driven team, working to change how people think and experience live-music.
  • get hands-on experience scaling a start-up involved in the music industry, with all of the ups and downs involved in this process
  • get waist deep in managing big user groups and delivering newsletters in Mailchimp.
  • have daily contact to musicians and hosts from many different backgrounds and have an excellent space for testing and developing your networking and communicative skills.
  • be going to intimate house concerts and experience music in different and intense settings.
  • get free lunch and Friday breakfast!

Our internships usually run over a 5-6 months period, starting from August till December, but will be planned with flexibility. You will have a contact person helping you plan and carry out your internship and tasks.

The internship is unpaid.

Perks and benefits

This job comes with several perks and benefits

Working at
Low-Fi Concerts

At Low-Fi we want people to experience live music in a meaningful way. To do so we have created an online platform for: musicians, hosts and concert goers. Here they can meet and co-create (very analogue) living room concerts in the cozy setting of private homes. In a changing music industry, where money is no longer made in the recording studio, but at live gigs, we are servicing a global community of musicians and music lovers, allowing them to connect and create live music experiences together.  We support a present music scene with a fair and transparent economy. Working at Low-Fi you will be a part of something bigger than yourself. You will become a full member of a global DIY live music scene, where the close proximity between musician and audience creates a special atmosphere that allows everyone to drop their guard and create meaningful connections with the music and each other. We call this amplified togetherness. Want to know more about living room concerts?
