Donkey Republic is seeking an Android developer to join the team in Copenhagen. Donkey Republic is growing rapidly helping cities overcome their urbane challenges. We are looking for an experienced developer to help build a fantastic app for our riders. So far we've put more than 400.000 happy riders on bikes in Europe and beyond.

We are looking for a skilled Android developer

Donkey Republic is running a rapidly growing bike rental service in more than 60 towns across Europe. Our bike service is built on a mobile only approach where the entire experience is brought through our native iOS and Android apps. We work hard to create the best user experience for riders taking our orange Donkeys across town. 

What your job will be

You will team up with our skilled product team which today comprise 4 developers, a designer and a CTO. We are currently growing the team with a few heads, so it is a good opportunity to be part of lifting the product to the next level.

These days we are working on a lot of interesting stuff. We just released new pricing and membership packages in our apps, we are currently bringing new types of vehicles, like eScooters and eBikes, on the market and we are working on some advanced solutions for optimising our operations even more, making it possible for us to compete with competitors with deeper pockets than us. One of the aspects of that is our Shepherd app which our mechanics use to maintain our fleet of orange Donkeys.

Besides that there's obviously all the usual stuff like writing tests, refactoring old stinky code, etc, to make sure that the app is running smooth.

Who you are

We expect you to have at least a few years of experience. You should be self-driven enough to take responsibility for the app, while also caring about the overall performance of the team.

Here we would usually write a technical stack that we would want you to have experience with, but the truth is that we want you to be well structured in your code, take responsibility for what you do and want to constantly improve your coding skills. And most of all, we want you to want to be part of a social team that wants to do the best they can. The rest you can learn.
