OwnCity provides people with the opportunity to invest, like on Kickstarter, in energy efficiency and clean energy projects. This enables buildings to reduce energy costs, lower CO2 emissions, and deliver better indoor air quality, while increasing community engagement around making a financially sustainable climate action case.

OwnCity is an early stage FinTech/PropTech startup with a Copenhagen and Los Angeles presence. We are making direct impact investments possible and very tangible for everyone. We have received funding from the EU and Innovation Fund Denmark, and are currently negotiating a pre-seed and tech partnerships with a prominent software development company. We are still a bootstrapped startup with one founder (located in LA), and two part-time team members acting as Community Manager and Operations Manager in Denmark. In addition, we have a very diverse and senior Advisory Board actively helping OwnCity in the Danish market.

In 2018 we completed Copenhagen FinTech Lab’s Incubator Program, world renowned Y Combinator’s Startup School, Wharton Business School Accelerator, and we are still part of the European Climate KIC Accelerator program, an EU-funded climate program for the most promising impact startups in Europe. 

We are looking for an entrepreneurial and driven Managing Director with the right toolbox to lead OwnCity in Denmark and rather sooner than later in the European market, as we have been selected to participate in EMPOWER, an EU funded project across Belgium, Holland, the UK, and Denmark.

Overall responsibilities:

• Take full responsibility of day to day operations
• Able to be declared fit & proper by the Danish FSA (Finanstilsynet)
• Either broad relevant background (energy, finance, real estate) or relevant sector specialist with an open and curious mind to challenge status quo.
• Confident and eager to make OwnCity your "baby"
