We are looking for an experienced Business Controller to join our team in Helsinki to build our Finance function. Swappie is growing and expanding rapidly and we are searching for someone that would like to grow together with us. We are currently a team of 40+ employees and offer you a role in a fast-paced and international working environment where everything is possible. We have a proven business model and with an upcoming financing round we are ready for rapid expansion globally.

Working with finance is all about achieving the business objectives by offering efficient, reliable and proactive financial support and analysis to the rest of the company. As Business Controller you are a true business partner, contributing with your expertise in analyzing facts and details and communicating the results in the most informative manner.

In this position, you oversee our accounting operations, including ensuring that month-end close processes and financial reporting functions are completed accurately and on time. You are responsible for operational steering of the financial reporting, ensuring that all financial statements and balance sheets are recorded, reconciled and delivered to the appropriate stakeholders. You will be highly involved in our upcoming financing round.

You also ensure our accounting systems comply with generally accepted accounting principles and with IFRS, help reducing risk and managing cash. Overseeing our cash-flow transactions by tracking our in- and outflow of cash is also an important part of your role. Furthermore, you are accountable for internal controls and the implementation of continuous testing. Another important and natural part of your job is your ongoing work to develop and improve our routines, processes and building the function as well as a team.

You have 3-5 years of experience and are a highly motivated, driven and detail-oriented person, willing to make a difference. You have the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced changing environment and to build strong relationships across the business. Excellent verbal and written communication in Finnish and English skills is a must. Swedish is a plus. You love to build structure where there is none and you are not afraid of finding your own solution that solves your task.

• With a high degree of pro-activity, support the functions in securing that financial KPI’s are met
• Together with the business develop, plan, budget, forecast and follow up all activities across the organization
• Initiate and follow up improvement actions
• Ensure that our external accountants are set up in the best way to support our growth
