Payr is building innovative online banking services for consumers and businesses. Our first product is a payment service making it easier to pay bills for people in the Nordics. We already have a great team in place. But we are missing a driven, curious and talented DevOps engineer to join us at our offices at Akersgata 11 in Oslo.


We are looking for a DevOps Engineer with good programming skills to help us build functional systems that improve customer experience. DevOps Engineer responsibilities include deploying product updates, identifying production issues and integrating third-party customer systems. If you have a solid background in monitoring systems, software engineering and are familiar with coding and scripting, we’d like to meet you. Ultimately, you will execute and automate operational processes fast, accurately and securely.

Not only will you be working in a hot, new Fintech startup with a team of talented engineers and designers, you will be a vital part of our company and bring your voice to the table on how to build our first generation of mobile applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor running systems for security, stability, and performance.
  • Implement integrations requested by customers.
  • Deploy updates and fixes in our cloud system.
  • Provide Level 2 technical support.
  • Build tools to reduce occurrences of errors and improve customer experience.
  • Develop software to integrate with internal back-end systems.
  • Perform root cause analysis for production errors.
  • Investigate and resolve technical issues.
  • Develop scripts to automate visualization.
  • Design procedures for system troubleshooting, security, and maintenance.
  • Reporting to management.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of work experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar software engineering role.
  • Good knowledge of coding or scripting to be able to write code to automate repeatable processes.
  • Good knowledge in implementing and testing REST-like API’s.
  • Program using either GO, Java or Python.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and Key/Value databases.
  • Experienced in deploying and monitoring applications in Google Cloud, Amazon AWS or Azure. Using either Kubernetes, Docker or OpenStack.
  • Experience in source control systems - Git, CVS or Subversion.

Plus:

  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject.
  • Preferred Proficiency in English and Norwegian languages, not mandatory.
  • Understanding  the Nordic financial infrastructure
  • Experienced Google Cloud Platform
  • Norwegian work permit is an advantage
