We are Fishbrain, the largest social platform for Fishing enthusiasts (or anglers as they’re called). The 7 letter word “fishing” has an interest group of more than a billion people around the globe and we are the only team who’s redesigning the way they connect, interact and socialize.

With more than 4 million users on our platform logging more than 3 million catches so far, we’re one of the fastest growing tech startups of Sweden with a great journey still ahead of us. We are now looking to find another great member to the Android team to be part of delivering a high quality user experience at all times.

When joining the Fishbrain Android team, you will spend most of your time focusing on building and improving our product because we believe that is the key for success.

So, what do we spend our days building?

We are the creators of the best app in the world for people who loves fishing. In the US alone, there are 40 million people who have fishing as their hobby and it is one of the biggest hobbies worldwide.

Here are some of the challenges that we are working on in the Android team:

How can we use technology to find pictures of fish in the camera roll of a user.

How do we make sure our platform can scale for an even bigger user base (+10 million)

How can we analyze our data of our 3 million logged catches? What can we learn from them in order to create an even better product?

How can our product and data fit into the Google’s ecosystem (Android Wear, Google Home etc)?

In order to solve challenges like these, we use the latest tech (we just made a “fish or no fish” image recognition service using Tensorflow). Also, we work a lot in cross-functional teams.

As an Android Engineer you will be one of our core members in our Android development team. We are a supercharged team of developers and we are looking forward to bring new talents in to help us on our journey. What you do will have actual impact on our users and Fishbrain as a company. The office has windows, multiple coffee machines, and a team of amazing people working inside it. It's also cubicle-free.
