iOS Developer

Minut is building Point, a smart and friendly home alarm system in a single device. We are looking for a bright and curious frontend developer to join the team and help building a great customer experience.

You will lead the development of our iOS app. As Point is almost invisible in everyday use, the apps are the most important interface to our customers and they heavily define the Point user experience. They should be hallmarks of simplicity and instill confidence. Our customers require the core of our apps to be stable and simple to use in their day-to-day lives. This will be your responsibility.

We believe you have some experience developing mobile apps and feel comfortable building native iOS in Swift. You are curious about new technology and interested in getting to know Android, our backend, and the Point platform. You have an understanding of good UX where simplistic design and stability are keywords.

Since Minut is still a small team you will have a significant impact on the product and roadmap ahead. You will take part in all phases, from designing new features to releasing a complete implementation in the end. Being part of our team at this early stage means you’ll shape and build the future of friendly home security.

About Minut

Working in a startup is a lot of fun! And sometimes scary. That’s OK!

Today at Minut we are 16 people split into three teams: Product (you’ll join this one!), Operations, and Customer Experience. We work together at one of our offices, but remote is OK once in awhile. You’ll find that we have a strong engineering background and that our work is influenced by it.

We have an office at a co-working space in Malmö, called The Ground, and share it with some other amazing startups. Since there’s a very physical component to Point, we spend a significant time in Shenzhen, China where we do manufacturing. Since the summer of 2017 we also have one person located in Stockholm (with another joining in March 2018).

Every day we try to learn something new. We believe learning is a strong source of motivation and strive to provide an environment where uninhibited learning can take place. As an early member of the team, you will have a lot of influence on your own work, the company’s future and our products.

Responsibilities

• Be the main developer for the iOS app
• Be responsible for the underlying architecture and review code for both platforms
• Work closely with an Android/iOS developer and review code for both platforms
• Work closely with the UX team to continuously improve the user experience
• Investigate ways to use cross-platform code, such as React
• Work to maintain high code readability, testability, and stability.
