We are looking for people with a journalism background or those who can show a strong interest in journalism to join our international team in Oslo. You will be working closely with our editors, writers and journalists. The Oslo Desk has already achieved attention locally and within the international community. There are many exciting things to come. Join us in the effort to bring peace and diversity through journalism and media.
You will either assist an investigative journalist to do various tasks like research and conduct interviews, or run and develop your own stories. Whilst this is an unpaid position, there are opportunities to apply for funds to develop your story or case. You will be expected to figure out ways around obstacles and work collaboratively within the international team.
What we look for in our Editorial and Multimedia team:
- Submitting ideas to the The Oslo Desk for stories that will engage our international audience and stimulate debate and interaction
- Understanding investigative and constructive journalism would be a plus
- Excellent relationship-building skills, both internally within TOD and externally
- Understanding SEO-focused content to drive search traffic would be a plus
- Using a diverse digital storytelling tools
- Support the investigative journalist team through in-depth research and discussion on leads
- Excellent communication skills
- Editorial experience is a plus, but not necessary
- Excellent level of English especially in writing and speaking (additional languages a plus).
- Good knowledge of Norwegian
- A good learning ability
- Demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving ability
