Pangea Funds is a One-stop Crowdinvestment and Accelerator Platform Connecting early stage start-ups with Africans abroad. We are currently doing The Factory Accelerator (Voted Best Norwegian Accelerator 2017) & have also received funding. We enable you to invest in the top performing companies that are disrupting industries across the continent. The team consist of 4 Co-founders with wide experience in finance, impact investment and doing business in Africa.
We are now in a stage of setting up and running our first pilot in Kenya to acquire learning and experience in order to improve and scale the concept to other African countries. We are looking for an Accelerator Program Manager to set up and run the program in collaboration with our local partners in Nairobi.
If you are passionate about emerging markets and plugged into the startup system, and love engaging with and building exciting startups and SMEs in Africa, then Pangea Funds is the place for you! Accelerator Program Manager role involves helping early stage companies in Kenya through the Pangea Funds milestone driven accelerator model. You will be responsible of the pre-program activities, through the program and the post-program stage, and responsible for running the program in structure and systematic fashion. We are looking for someone who can take Pangea Funds to a competitive milestone driven accelerator program, and based in Nairobi from January 2018 for 7 months.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop the content and structure of the program
- Recruit and select startups in collaboration with local partners
- Manage relationships with local and national sponsors
- Develop mentoring program, recruit and manage relationships with diaspora mentors
- Nurturing and working closely with startups under the Accelerator Program
- Develop, build and coordinate relationships with international and local partners
- Business development and strategic partnership building with key partners in the African eco-system
- Overall management and coordination of the acceleration programme
- Coordinate events and meet-ups to continuously engage the African startup ecosystem
- Develop the digitalisation of the mentor and startup relationship in collaboration with CEO and tech team
- Identify opportunities to create new programs to drive startup engagements
Experience and qualifications :
- A great understanding of start-up mentality
- Loves taking ownership of ideas and executing them
- Understands startups and has past experience in leading, working in or with startups
- Past experience in running incubator and acceleration programs is a big plus but not a must!
- Passionate and driven about working in an entrepreneurial work environment and build your own successful journey in the company
- Proactive and strong business acumen
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
