Zervant is a fintech start-up that makes invoice software for small businesses. We’re an international team of 40 like-minded people, based in Espoo, and our product is already used by over 150,000 entrepreneurs worldwide. Our common goal is to become the most popular invoicing software in Europe.
What You'll Be Doing
You’ll be working as part of a small, international team of four developers. A mix of consultants that have a long-term working relationship with the company, as well as full-time staff. Everyone has their own remit and areas of responsibility, but we like to mix things up once in a while to keep things fresh. As a fullstack developer, you can choose to be either a front-end or back-end specialist (but you will need to dabble in the other side of things from time to time).
Your team will be working closely with one of Zervant’s main partners, global financial institution ING, adapting the base product according to their custom requests. There’ll be plenty of interesting and challenging tasks to get stuck into, as well as urgent issues that pop up from nowhere and require your immediate attention. There’ll be other tasks that need a hefty dose of creativity to solve, and the odd bit of work with legacy code. In short, everything you might expect in a modern technology company.
What We Expect
We know that there is never an “ideal candidate” for a job, but we really value relevant experience, proactivity, a willingness to learn, and good chemistry with your colleagues.
That said, there are a few “must haves” in terms of the tech stack. For the front-end this includes React with Redux, and for the back-end in-depth knowledge of node.js. It’s also a huge plus if you have knowledge of any of the following: RESTfull API, MySQL/MongoDB, event driven systems, AWS for back-end developers (eg. DynamoDB, lambda, S3), TypeScript, Serverless and JAVA. And also patience for dealing with complicated legacy issues!
Our working language is English, so you’ll need to be fluent in written and spoken form. There are no specific requirements in terms of academic background - all you need to do is prove you have the skills for the job (so if you can share any past projects or show us some code snippets, send ‘em over!).
